ADB’s Executive Director (USA) visit to Aceh for the progress of ETESP projects

BANDA ACEH, JULY 24, 2007, Curtis Chan, the ADB’s Executive Director for USA, visits ETESP-24 project office at Bapedalda Building, Banda Aceh. His visit to all ETESP projects and ADB-EMS is to see directly how the grants and loans are spent for ETESP projects and to see the effectiveness of ADB’s efforts in rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh and Nias after the tsunami and earthquake.

ETESP-24 hold a short meeting to welcome Mr. Chan’s visit and discuss the background and progress of the ETESP-24 project, ADB’s policies & visions, and some general discussion about experience with working on ADB projects within Asia. Morning tea was served.

Other attendees at the meeting were representatives of Bappeda NAD and Bapedalda NAD, Pieter Smidt (Head of ADB-EMS), Aminul Huq (ADB Project Management Advisor), Rehan Kausar (ADB Housing and Spatial Planning Advisor) and Roma Manurung (Deputy Team Leader of ETESP-32).
